Shown in the vid is how to make a simple stitch job to repair some worn gear. How to tie A Timber Hitch ( Proper Way ), Rusa scouts standard requirement. Also known as Bowyer's Knot Function: The timber hitch is a knot used to attach a single length of rope to a piece of wood. This knot is easily undone after use.Also for the starting hitch for tying the Diagonal lashing and for dragging logs/poles around, temporary hitching My Instructions : First, circle the rope/string around the pole/object, the you wish it tie a timber hitch against as shown in the video and go around and over the other longer rope/string Next, using the end of the rope that used to circle the pole and to go around and over the longer rope, coil (snake ) the rope around the circle tied around the pole (remembered to go in the opposite direction that you have circled around the pole ) as seen in the video until all or most of the rope is used up. I made it to Illinois Dear Viewer! Camp was made...ready for some rest! This is the "official" Combat Tent, unlike the copies Trek and Catoma make. This tent is made by Eureka! and manufactured here in the USA. This tent comes with 3 Easton poles and tent pin stakes. Very quality I may add. The only gripe I seem to have is the fly material which is nylon. Saggy when wet. Plus it could be more weather-proof. :(

Shown here are two quick and easy methods to set up tactical sheaths such that they will hang horizontally along the belt line. Advantages to carrying knives this way include ease of concealment, as well as a very quick and intuitive draw. The first method uses some nylon with plastic bits I don't know the names of. It makes for two easily adjustable belt loops. Pretty self explanatory, anyway. The second method shown uses a bit of string and the grommets/rivets to create some loops for a belt. This can be tightened by pulling the string, and if you were so inclined you could use a slidelock rather than a knot like I did, to ensure they all stayed nice and tight. Note that the string I used was just that, poor quality string, and better results would be had with some paracord or decent nylon cord. Song is called Prayers for Rain (J. Viewz Remix) by Bluetech

I've replaced my beloved Victorinox Zip-Around wallet with the CountyComm NY-LA ID wallet while I give it a proper trial. If things go well, I will likely retire the Vic wallet for the foreseeable future and carry the NY-LA from here on out. After a bit of thought I have decided to stop carrying my Streamlight Nano full-time. I noticed that almost every time I reach for a light, it's my Olight i3 that gets called into duty. However, I do still continue to carry the Nano as a regular part of my work EDC and it is performing perfectly to this day. I was planning on featuring my new Swiss+Tech Micro-Max 19-in-1 keychain tool in today's video but I recently gifted it to my dad. In its stead I am carrying the Micro-Pro 6-in-1 which lacks many of the 'Max's tools but is every bit as durable and easy to carry. Recently I've been swapping between two Spydercos for my everyday knife: the orange Para-Military 2 with CTS-XHP steel, and the blue FRN Endura 4 with a full flat grind and VG-10. Both are amazing knives that have proven themselves to be useful and built-to-last. Very recently I have purchased a SOG Trident from YouTube member "shaokem" and I am very pleasantly surprised with its performance as well as its overall construction and lockup. amzn.to If you are looking for a good survival knife and you are interested in the Bear Grylls Survivor Series, this knife is one of the best choices. Let me personally say that this is a great blade. While weighing in a bit heavy at 4.3oz, it makes up for it in resiliency and usage. Gerber has gotten this right in design and strength. This particular knife has gone through extensive testing in Everyday Outdoors and we have found it to still be in ALMOST perfect condition. While it has some up and down play on the lock, this is due to a huge amount of cutting and it is very minimal. The lockback type lock fared well when we put it to the test using spine whacks and overstrikes. What may be good improvements are jimping on the blade and, as with the Compact Scout, the serrations are not the best in our personal opinion. amzn.to If you are looking for a good survival knife and you are interested in the Bear Grylls Survivor Series, this knife is one of the best choices. Let me personally say that this is a great blade. While weighing in a bit heavy at 4.3oz, it makes up for it in resiliency and usage. Gerber has gotten this right in design and strength. This particular knife has gone through extensive testing in Everyday Outdoors and we have found it to still be in ALMOST perfect condition. While it has some up and down play on the lock, this is due to a huge amount of cutting and it is very minimal. The lockback type lock fared well when we put it to the test using spine whacks and overstrikes. What may be good improvements are jimping on the blade and, as with the Compact Scout, the serrations are not the best in our personal opinion. It may not look very pretty but it gives me two decent pieces of paracord if I ever need them. The wrapped grip feels pretty good, and the knots in the cord ends do not interfer with my grip on the handle. I guess you never know when you may need some paracord.

Hammock starts at: 1:30 Rothco Military Style Jungle Hammock - Camouflage version. The bottom is canvas and will be warmer in the fall and winter. That's the number one complaint about the newer high priced all nylon breathable(uncoated) cocoon type hammocks. You may not get as much breathable material in the summer time, yet it will not be hot at all as some may claim and will not be wrapping around your body. On the contrary, I find there is more ventilation through the side netting in this type hammock than the new top end nylon cocoon types. Lay is very flat when taut, as should be and normal in performance. You can sit or lean out to make your coffee in the morning like any other hammock design. The lean is every bit as stable as any hammock out there imo. Remember the top as well as the hammock is secured to a tree, your not going anyplace. Always use a rainfly over any Hammock and single wall tent! That's a must have to go with these while camping. The built in top in my opinion is nothing more than a way to hang the netting and block the sun. I found the Rothco camo version to be a bit larger both in length and in height than the texsport model. You will need about 50 feet of paracord or amsteel, tree huggers etc. and a stuff sack to go with this hammock. You may have noticed the tarp laying off to the side in the video? In this video, my daughter and I take my ENO Double Nest hammock out in the backyard to give a general overview of the product and demonstrate how I hang the thing. I have to give props to shugemery for this knot though, because it's a derivative of one I learned from watching his channel. The Eagle Nest Outfitters Double Nest hammock is rated at 400 lbs, which is good for a big guy like me. The compression sack is attached as well which gives a handy place to put things like glasses at night. I have nothing but good things to say about this hammock. It is strong, versatile, ultralight and compact. When I was researching hammocks to purchase, I noticed that ENO also makes what they call "SlapStraps" which are nylon webbing straps that can be used to hang it with for about . I chose not to go that route, but rather, purchased a couple of nylon utility straps from TSC for each. They are rated at 800lbs each and have worked great for me. The best part of it is that they are much lighter than the ENO Slap Straps, and fit right inside the hammock bag. The ENO Slap Straps came in a separate bag that was almost the same volume as the hammock itself! You can use this knot for carrying anything (eg knife, keys, wallet, phone) around your neck, hand, waist, etc. It will break free when you pull hard, so you can avoid getting hung up. I demonstrate with 1/4" braided nylon and paracord, but it works with other types of cord as well. Please test it out like I did at the end of the video and make sure you are comfortable with it. How after the purchase of our Micarta scales the BK-2 may not need a cord wrapped handle, but it makes a great example. Here's a quick look at one of my half-plait handled stock whips. They are made from nylon (paracord) and are great for use in all weather conditions. thong is 6 feet long and tied in 12 plait. The thong's keeper is plaited from the strands of the thong itself and has two layers of plaiting handle is 20" long and tied in 16 plait.
