UPDATE- made some better arrows, experimenting with shaft materials led me to fiberglass rods from home depot. So far there pretty good youtu.be I made this bow , designed by Backyardbowyer ( check out his channel! ) , for my Uncle Junior. The arrow is just a bamboo stake that I straightened and filed a simple nock on, the most basic possible flights out of duct tape. The bowstring is made of 18 strands of Spectra microfilament twist braided. I couldnt find Dacron , but this Spectra is pretty darn good. I had originally used some nylon rope or paracord, but that just didnt feel right.
